First, I'm a HUGE Kohler fan....there is only one piece of plumbing in my house that is not Kohler. My experience with them goes back to the early 90's when I had purchased a house on the shore and discovered that several of the faucets had steady drips. I called Kohler and asked if they could help be obtain the part and cost wise would it be worth the effort. Even though the faucets were more than 20 years old, and purchased by someone else, Kohler fully stood behind their product and sent me replacement washer assemblies (not a washer, but a brass insert that shuts off the water flow. I have the stullness line in my main bathroom and love the products. The towel bars and robe hook look great, but the end cap of the towel bars looks as though it is glued on....clearly showing a seam. For the price I paid this is not a huge deal and otherwise they look fantastic, but I must admit I did not expect to see these visible plugs at the ends of the bars.$100 is a reasonable price all things considered, but if I had paid more I think I would have returned them. The Kohler towel bars these replaced had better construction standards, and they were about 1/2 this price. For $109 dollars this is absolutely terrible Chinese manufacturing quality! I have never seen a towel bar this poorly manufactured and the problems occurred with both Chrome towels bars I ordered! The very similar $25 This towel bar from Kohler seemed to me of questionable design and quality. I like the simple, modern (or at least minimalist) design, but the bar itself feels on the cheaper side of bars I've installed, as though it might bend easily. A price set at about 25% of its current list would be about right. The towel bar attaches to two wall mounting plates with two set screws, one for each 'arm' that attaches to the wall plate. The arms were attached to the bar at the factory such that one set screw would always be visible right on top of an arm as one screw hole is on top and one is on the bottom. I would have had to unscrew one of the arms and re-attach it to hide the set screw. For 20 bucks? Sure, no problem. For almost 90? Going back as fast as I can stuff it back in the box. I'm not in to paying for brand names with lousy quality.Worth a note here that over the course of two bathroom remodels Kohler consistently exhibited the worst quality in items I considered. Not everything was bad, but they've got a big quality and consistency problem.Simple design but excellent quality. It enhances our family bath upgrade perfectly. Item arrived promptly & in perfect condition. Great seller!Kohlers are amazing quality for a competitive price. This will coordinate with several vibrant brushed nickel accessories in their line.
